Fencing

Fencing is expected to reduce the risk of physical injury by keeping humans and wildlife physically separated. Fences could be constructed around areas where human activity is high, to keep wildlife away from the site.

One study evaluated the effectiveness of fencing to prevent dingoes from entering a high-use visitor area in Fraser Island, Australia. The risk of human-dingo interaction was reduced in the treatment area (inside the fence) during the 12 months subsequent to fence installation, compared to human-dingo incident rates outside of the fenced area.
