Change sheep breed

Different sheep breeds may be more or less susceptible to the local carnivores depending on for instance the body size, vigilance, speed, or agility.

A Norwegian study found that the Dala sheep breed of larger body size suffered more losses to wolverines than the lighter Norwegian fur-bearing sheep and Rygja sheep breeds. In this particular context, with free ranging sheep and predation from wolverines, it appears that the sheep with lighter body weight are better able to escape predation.
